The country is rich in natural resources, cultural history, and a variety of tourist attractions. Because of its area of 238,391 km², Romania represents the ninth biggest country in the European Union. A large part of its frontiers follows the course of the Danube River, the second-longest river in Europe. The multiple fluvial systems in Romania, together with the Danube River, equip the country with considerable hydroelectric potential. With a population of 19,524 million people (2018), Romania is the seventh most populous country in the European Union. Its capital, Bucharest, has more than 2 million inhabitants, and is the seventh biggest capital city in Europe.
Since the Second World War, Romania has become a country with upper-middle-income. Its currency is the Romanian LEU. Since Romania entered the European Union on January 1, 2007, the country has experienced swift economic growth, particularly in the services sector, production and export of machinery, and in electrical energy. Moreover, Romania is a member of various international organizations such as the WTO, the Latin American Integration Association, European Bank of Investments, the International Monetary Fund, the World Tourism Organization, and the International Chamber of Commerce. In addition, we can increase the activities of our investors fomenting the Treaties already signed between Brazil and Romania as, the Agreement on Technological and Economic Cooperation between the Government of the Federal Republic of Brazil and the Government of Romania. Decree n. 8.685, the Agreement on Commerce and Economic Cooperation between the Government of the Federal Republic of Brazil and the Government of Romania, on February 23, 1994. Decree n. 1.558, and Agreement on Cooperation in Tourism between the Government of the Federal Republic of Brazil and the Government of Romania on June 25, 2000. Decree n. 5.864 that show us the natural goodwill from both nations.
